Vision Statement
Mohn's Hill Evangelical Congregational Church will be a forward moving Body of Christ where all who fellowship are valued, prayed for, and equipped for ministry. With the Holy Spirit's leading, all who fellowship will be encouraged to join intentional ministry opportunities fulfilling our purpose of helping people know Christ, grow in Christ and show Christ locally and globally (1 Corinthians 12). By equipping each in our flock to be mature disciples dedicated to carrying out their specific ministry, we will share the gospel and display the love and example of Jesus Christ with all in whom we come in contact. We will expand our ministry into surrounding communities within Berks and Lancaster counties seeking to meet the spiritual needs of our neighbors (Ephesians 2:10). It is our dream that the ministries of Mohn's Hill Evangelical Congregational Church would reach and transform thousands of people from all walks of life.
- We envision worship which exalts the Lord with Biblical teaching based on God's Word that features a single life-application Biblical truth. Worship may include, but not limited to, various multi-sensory methods including the spoken word, contemporary music, drama, multi-media, modern parables and visual Scripture. It is our desire that worship be honoring and glorifying to God, and a time to give generously to support the work of His church through tithes and offerings. It is our dream, and desire, to fill every worship service to capacity.
- We envision a Sunday school which equips every age group with life application and understanding of the truths from God's Word. It is our desire that Sunday school be a time of prayer, teaching, sharing, and encouragement that will strengthen the Body of Christ. We see our Sunday school time progressing into new areas of education and caring for the flock.
- We envision a children's and youth ministry which actively engages each participant with relevant age-appropriate learning and serving opportunities, focusing on peer relational ministry in our surrounding public school districts and satellite locations. A focus of our children and youth ministry will be to help our children and youth to become mature believers in Christ with knowledge and wisdom based on solid Biblical teaching. We will utilize the know, grow, and show philosophy to provide a clear disciple-making ministry.
- We envision a mission's ministry which utilizes Small Missional Teams to reach various people groups and needs in our surrounding communities while strengthening the faith and relational bonds within our church family. We see Small Missional Teams reaching the lost and bringing many to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We see Small Misional Teams being the catalyst for invitation to join us in worship and service. It is our desire that Small Missional Teams adopt missionaries around the world to encourage and support their ministries. Our hope and dream is that many from our own fellowship would be called into the mission field. Teams will be encouraged to utilize the know, grow, show philosophy of ministry. While it is our dream that many would participate in Small Missional Teams, we will build this ministry as God calls individuals whose hearts He has burdened for this outreach.
- We envision families by God-honoring marriages and parental relationships which are witnesses of a Christ centered family. We seek to provide opportunities for families to serve together with other families as a ministry team. It is our desire to provide a safe haven for families to be strengthened, encouraged, and equipped to be bold witnesses who reflect and model God's design for the family. As the Body of Christ, we will lift up and support those families who have lost a father, mother, husband, or wife and endeavor to fill the needs left by that loss. It is our desire that mature couples mentor, love, and guide young families in the ways of a Christian marriage. As the Body of Christ we will be the extended family for young adults and single adults through Christian fellowship, encouragement, and brotherly love.
- We envision a facility which fully utilizes God's bountiful provisions for Mohn's Hill Evangelical Congregational Church. We will seek to develop our property and facilities to be adequate in quality and size to support all who worship with us and participate in our various ministries. We imagine and desire our grounds being developed to such a capacity that our church may host regional and national events including ministry conferences, workshops, retreats, and concerts. We seek to provide a property that houses our Pastors and that maximizes the awesome natural location that God has given us.
- We envision a Pastoral staff which is supported, encouraged, prayed for and partnered with in all their hopes and dreams. It is our expectation to be ever expanding and investing in additional staffing. We will seek to provide the environment where every member of our Pastoral team can fulfill their God given call and dreams for their life in ministry.
We believe that God has placed us here at this time and place to be a beacon of light to a lost and dying world. We believe He is coming back and will take His Church with Him. It is our prayer that we will be found ready and actively working for Him when He returns. We desire a united Body joined together in love so that every part might do good works (Ephesians 4: 11-16).
